Dr. Abigail SchildcroutI will always give you estimates as to how much time I think will be needed and what the charges will be, and will inform you ahead of time if it appears that the time estimate will increase significantly during my work on your case.

If you have a specific budget, we will discuss what I can do for you within that budget.

Frequently Asked Question — Individuals

Where will I meet with you?

For our first meeting, I will come to your home or office in southern Oakland County (Berkley, Beverly Hills, Birmingham, Bloomfield Hills, Farmington HIlls, Ferndale, Franklin, Huntington Woods, Oak Park, Pleasant Ridge, Royal Oak, Southfield, Troy, and West Bloomfield areas). If you are outside these areas, please call me and we will work to find mutually agreeable meeting arrangements. After our first meeting, subsequent consultation may be done in person or by phone.

Can I be your patient?

I do not take on clients as patients. My goal is to help you have the best possible relationship with your own doctors, to facilitate communication, and to empower you within the medical labyrinth.

What type of case is your specialty?

I specialize in helping my clients obtain the best medical care for themselves. Two people with the same diagnosis may have two entirely separate ideal paths. I work with each of my clients to figure out his starting knowledge base about his health situation, determine his overall health goals, find what is and what is not currently working, and then teach, coach, advocate for and guide that client along the path that will get him where he needs to be. From weight management coaching to advocacy and medical maze navigation when you or a loved one is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, my specialty is caring, personalized guidance within the medical realm. In short, my specialty is you.

How are your fees determined?

I will first speak with you about your personal medical situation, and we will determine if I can be of help to you. This includes time spent in direct communication with you (in person, by phone, etc.) or with others as directed by you (with family members, friends, physicians, medical offices, hospitals, etc.), time spent doing research on your behalf, time spent setting up appointments/meetings with specialists for you and/or discussing your case with specialists and their offices, time spent preparing summaries and reports for you, other time spent with you or on your behalf, and expenses incurred on your behalf (journal/article access fees, applicable travel expenses, etc.).

If we agree to proceed, I will give you estimates as to how much time I think will be needed and what the charges will be, and will inform you ahead of time if it appears that the time estimate will increase significantly during my work on your case. If you have a specific budget, we will discuss what I can do for you within that budget.
